About

Pemberton Animal Well-being Society (PAWS) is a registered Canadian charity founded to provide support and relief to cats and dogs in need. We are dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable animals and supporting responsible pet ownership.

As a largely volunteer driven organization PAWS provides rescue, rehabilitation, foster care, adoption services, community outreach and accessible animal wellness programs. From helping stray and abandoned animals find safety, to supporting families through spay and neuter initiatives, PAWS is committed to strengthening the bond between animals and the communities they call home.

Many of the animals arriving in care require urgent medical attention, behavioural support, nourishment, and rehabilitation before they are ready for adoption. Every donation directly supports veterinary care, food, supplies, transportation, and safe shelter for animals in need.

PAWS is proud to be a part of the fabric of the community…building a future where every animal is treated with compassion, dignity, and care.

The PAWS Mission Statement:

To promote the welfare of animals for the benefit of the public by:
– spaying or neutering domestic pets, and/or feral or stray animals;
– rescuing and temporarily housing stray, abandoned, abused, or surrendered animals;
– operating an animal fostering and adoption program; and
– educating the public on the proper care of domestic animals.
