Hi, I’m Kira!

Yes, I look like a dingo. No, I’m not feral – just a little suspicious of vacuum cleaners and ceiling fans. I came to PAWS with my sister Bindi, and while we were very loved, we weren’t exposed to much of the big, wide world. That means everything is new: stairs, TV sounds, weird kitchen smells, your cousin in a hoodie. All of it.

Between the two of us, I’m the quieter and sneakier sibling. I’m just as playful and curious as Bindi – I just prefer to assess the situation before launching into it headfirst. I like to sit back, observe, and then strike with a surprise burst of energy or a well-timed zoomie. I’m affectionate, silly, and love a good snuggle, but I’m still building my confidence, so it has to be on my terms.

The outside world still overwhelms me sometimes, but I’m making big progress every day. I’ve learned that humans are excellent treat dispensers, laps are warm, and that not every noise means the sky is falling. I’m looking for a foster-to-adopt home that’s quiet, patient, and ready to support me as I continue learning how to be a dog. No kids under 15 please.  I’m working hard on being brave and need a calm environment to thrive.

I might do well with another friendly, confident dog if introduced properly, and I’m open to having a four-legged role model to help show me the ropes.

Adopting a pup like me is a 15+ year commitment. I’ll need consistent veterinary care, high-quality food, a routine that helps me feel safe, and positive reinforcement training as I continue to grow into myself.

If you’re looking for a clever, cautious, and quietly hilarious companion – one who might side-eye you for the first few days but eventually sneak into your heart (and bed) – I could be your girl.
