Hi, I’m Stanley,

I’m a three year old red heeler by looks only. In reality, I’m a relaxed, cuddly, slow-living kind of guy who was surrendered through no fault of my own. I had an injury as a young dog that left me with an unusual hip joint. It’s healed and not painful, but it does mean I’m not built to be a working dog. I’m built for comfy couches, gentle strolls, and dedicated belly rub appointments. My new family will just need to keep an eye on it as part of my regular care.

I’m a happy, healthy boy with a whole lot of love to give. I adore everyone I meet — especially if they have treats — and I’ve been great with every dog I’ve been tested with. I’m not barky or reactive, just friendly and enthusiastic. I’m still learning some life skills and leash manners, mostly because I think every blade of grass deserves my full attention and every human is a new best friend.

I’m a soft, affectionate snuggler who will happily flop into your lap and stay there for as long as you’ll let me. I’m smart, eager to please, and very treat-motivated, which makes training fun for both of us. I’m waiting for my neuter surgery and then I’ll be ready to go home.

I’d love a calm, structured home with people who are around often. Like all dogs, I’m a 15+ year commitment and will need ongoing vet care, proper nutrition, and continued positive reinforcement training.
