Hi! I’m Susuwatari.

I came to PAWS from a very sad hoarding situation. I was brought in with a whole bunch of kittens of different ages, and the PAWS crew wasn’t sure which ones were actually mine. I nursed both ages of kittens and was a great mom to the tiny ones until they were old enough to be weaned and adopted.

I am extremely scared and traumatized. I have been through so much in my life so far, and it has really impacted me. I hate being at the shelter, and have struggled with all the different people that come and go everyday. I spend most of my days hiding in my house. Lately I have started coming out occasionally and checking things out. Sometimes I meow to tell people I’m exploring my kennel. I enjoy the squeeze up treats, so the volunteers have been working on gaining my trust using these. It makes everyone sad to see how scared I am of the world outside my house. I don’t mean any harm, but I have been in protection mode looking after my kittens in an unsafe environment my whole life.

The PAWS team is trying to figure out what may help my trust people again. I will need a very quiet home with no kids or dogs, and a patient, cat-saavy owner who knows I may never be a cuddly lap cat. I could potentially be a good fit for a loving barn or shop home as well. I am looking for a special person who is very patient and will love me no matter what. If you think you could be a good fit, please fill out an application today!
